The proper name for this distinctive shell is Bursa Rubeta. Its exterior is round and knobbly, and it’s this warty surface that gives them their common name of frog shells. Which makes them sound rather unattractive - but they’re not!
The opening of the shell is delicately ribbed, while the interior is creamy smooth and apricot coloured. It's a robust, thick shell that is a common shell in the waters of the Indo Pacific.
Typically measures 23cm long by 14cm wide. Pattern and size may vary to the shell pictured.
We also have smaller frogs for sale.
